Overview

Fallas is an exhilarating time when Valencia becomes a hotbed of activity with cheerful crowds and countless events. The city celebrates its patron saint Joseph the carpenter by building giant statues and sculptures out of wood and other materials which are placed all over the city. After four days of glory, these statues are put to the torch, reviving the cycle of life by destroying the old (and the winter) and ushering in the new with the spring. These statues and structures are clever and ironic ways that the public express their feelings about the latest scandals or events in society.

Interpreting the giant sculptures can also shed light on the mood and humour that Valencian’s share. In order to appreciate and experience the best of Fallas from the perspective of the locals, we offer you to join us on an insider tour to see, feel, taste and live Fallas.
